Onset runs on your Mac. Your recordings and films stay there unless you send them somewhere yourself.

Your recordings and films

Recordings, films, cuts, notes and exports are kept on your Mac, in Onset's own folder. We don't receive them.

When an AI does the work

Some tasks need an AI service. For each one, Onset sends only what that task needs:

• writing the script: pictures of your steps, the words on those pages and your brief;
• a voice: the lines it reads;
• notes you speak: the sound of the note.

On Plus and Pro this goes to the service whose key you added, under its own terms. On Free it goes through Onset's server to free AI models; the companies running them may keep what they receive.

Your account

Your email address, your plan and its dates are kept with our account provider, Supabase. We use them to sign you in and to know your plan.

Payments

Payments are handled by [the merchant of record], which sells the subscription to you and sees your payment details. We never do.

Errors and updates

Onset keeps a log of its errors on your Mac. Nothing is sent unless you copy the details and send them to us. Onset checks for new versions on its download server.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no trackers. Its fonts, pictures and films are served from this site.

Your choices

You can delete films at any time in Onset. To delete your account, write to crew@onsetstudio.app.
